Stephen Gough has earned a spot on my Hall of Fame if I ever do one. This guy apparently has made it his mission to stop wearing clothes and just walk around the UK naked. As a result, he is repeatedly arrested. If fact, he sheds his clothes as he’s let out of the prison gate and is immediately rearrested, potentially leading to permanent confinement.
Simple nudity doesn’t hurt a soul, adult or child. Laws against nudity are simply a means by which a group of people coerce others into abiding by arbitrary cultural norms that they’ve established that have no more basis in rationality than the laws in Central Asian countries that criminalize a woman appearing in public without a head covering. And yet, there is no end to the recriminations westerners level against countries with such laws. It is stunning how blind people are to their own hypocrisy.
